Automotive designer (Interior/Exterior)

Job Requirements
-Creativity, strong math and science skills. Knowledge of Global design trends. Good new trend design analysis and ideas, good at Hand Sketch, Digital Sketch and Rendering.
- Have Full-size Interior/Exterior Automotive design experience.
- Surfaces knowledge. Excellent in using design software such as Photoshop, AI, Sketchbook, Rhino, Alias etc.
- Good at using WACOM.
- Structured Problem Solving experience preferred.(preferably in mass production environment where problems are unusual and difficult)
- Ability with supporting Engineers in trade –off studies and provide alternative solutions for cross-functional committee consideration.
- Strong Communication skills. Flexibility and adaptability to work with multi-cultural people. Especially have experience to work with Chinese team.
- Prefer development knowledge with a variety of materials and processes.
- Prefer ability to accurately analyze color and material issues and effectively communicate solutions.
- Prefer knowledge of automotive suppliers, their products and process capabilities.
- Project management and organizational skills to support the project team including mentoring and training (Foreigner 10+ years’ experience require)

Automotive modeler, Clay Design

Job Requirements
-Create and develop complete small and full scale exterior and interior clay models, by working directly with Surface designer and Engineers to ensure high aesthetic quality and engineering/manufacturing feasibility.
- Interpret sketches and written/verbal direction to modify developing and completed clay models.
- Knowledge of automotive vehicle studio design execution and practice with an emphasis on clay model exteriors & interiors.
- Knowledge of concept to launch program execution, with emphasis on sketch to milling to clay to scan to surface development & execution.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, Best Practices, Exterior/ interior development processes, Global Safety Requirements, Regulations & Zones (including FMVSS &ECE/ECC), Packaging, Dimensional Engineering and Continuous Improvement is a plus.
- Must be able to create, develop, validate and complete high quality clay models, while incorporating required criteria & standards.
- Must be able to maintain high quality clay models, related equipment, tools and materials.
- Must be able to evaluate all associated tasks & apply accurate completion timing.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently & effectively with internal & external departments & work equally well within a team or individually as required.

3D Modeler

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience modeling high-poly character and creature models, with the ability to take an asset from concept to a final 3D, textured model.
-Development responsibility
- Develop parametric CATIA V5 2D Drawings & 3D models using specified design process.
- Review class ‘A’ surface supplied by styling to identify data quality concerns.
- Develop B side surface for plastic parts; include manufacturing tool requirements to meet standards.
- Develop surface for sheet metal components; include manufacturing tool requirements to meet standards.
- Perform blend filleting and pass Level E certification.
- Check shading quality of blend filleted part data prior to release.
- Prepare 2D drawings as required to define engineering intent.
- Check data for accuracy / integrity; make repairs to achieve requirements for tangency, gap, and content.
- Accurately complete a part / drawing requirement check sheet.
- Calculate blank shapes and material yield for body shell parts.
- Create Power Copies to automate creation of common features.
- Complete daily progress tracking sheets.
- Prepare and negotiate engineer / designer communication and open issue sheets; return completed data to Engineer with clear status report for open issues.
Requirements
1) 6 years of Automotive Design Experience in one or more of the following areas: Body Shell, Interior Trim, Seats, Functional Parts, Electrical / Wire Harness

CAE Engineer – Durability

Job Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop strength and durability FE models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
- Develop CAE methods and process for solving engineering problems unique to Tesla’s EV architectures.
- Challenge established traditional CAE methods and process to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboratively work with test engineers, and Multi Body Dynamic Loads Prediction engineers, to create specifications for data acquisition and virtual loads prediction. Test and analytical data must be suitable for use as load input for CAE based Fatigue and Strength analysis.
- Use CAE tools to optimize mass for BIW, closures, and other sub-systems.
- Manage precise model versioning and alignment with CAD enabling speed and efficiency in design iterations.
- Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses.
- Perform analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly and service processes.
- Provide input in the creation of component specification, component DFMEA, and other technical design documents where analysis plays a pivotal role
Requirements
·Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
·Minimum 4 years of demonstrated successful experience in Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods within an automotive product development environment.
·Excellent applied software experience in NASTRAN, OPTISTRUCT or ABAQUS. Experience in LS DYNA beneficial. Pre-processor experience in Hyper works or ANSA.
·Experience with either Design Life, or FE Safe fatigue software. Vibration based fatigue experience preferred.
·Ability to run Quasi Static, and dynamic strength analysis of structures using explicit solvers will be viewed highly favorably.
·Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques (Not required but preferred)
·Experience with Aluminum structures in at least one product development lifecycle is preferred.
·Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others on problems that are unusual or difficult.
·Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative automotive engineering environments (at least 1 vehicle program) – success in roles requiring high levels of technical communication and interpretation of analytical results to Design Engineers and Technical Management.
·Strong preference (but not required) for experience in 3D CAD modeling - CATIA v5.
·Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraints.
·Ability to work independently as well as perform in a strong team environment
